Lake County is not one kind of housing stock, and that matters more than people expect. The north end runs to century-old homes in Gary, Lake Station, and Hobart, where the ductwork was often added long after the house was built and the basements were never designed around a modern high-efficiency furnace. Head south and you are in newer construction around St. John, Winfield, Cedar Lake, and Crown Point, where the equipment is younger but frequently sized by whoever built the subdivision fastest. Both need someone who looks at the actual house instead of reading off a chart.

Older homes, retrofitted ductwork
Much of northern Lake County predates central air entirely. Duct systems added after the fact are often undersized, which shows up as a house that will not cool evenly no matter how good the new equipment is. The fix is airflow, not a bigger condenser.
Newer subdivisions, builder-grade equipment
In the newer south-county construction the equipment is younger but often minimum-spec and quickly sized. Oversized systems short cycle, wear out early, and leave the house cold and still humid in July.

Which Lake County towns do you serve?
Crown Point, Merrillville, Hobart, Schererville, St. John, Dyer, Munster, Highland, Griffith, Cedar Lake, Lowell, Winfield, Gary, Lake Station, New Chicago, and Schneider. We do not currently cover the far northwest corner of the county.
